Computers 9 10 Project Ocelot : Choose your own adventure

Aloha! You will make a choose your own adventure game in Animate with a partner or alone.

The only code snippets you will need to use are stop and click to go to scene ___.

You will need sounds, movie clips,  tweens, step by step keyframes,  and 16 scenes ( or 8 scenes if you work by yourself).

Make sure every scene has sound, movement and advances the story in a cool and interesting way. Have the buttons active at the end of the scene, so the player can make a choice after seeing the action.

The scene breakdown is Titlepage, First choice, and then 14 (0r 6 if you work alone) other scenes, with some bad endings, and at least one good ending where you win. The bad endings should let the person click a button to restart.

Your pattern doesn’t have to flow like this chart, this is just an example.

choose your own adventure

You will have a few classes for this project, so all your art has to be great. As always, no sketching stuff from the net, no using art from the net, and no stick people.

One student can do the programming and some art, the other should be an artist. If you put code on something and then bring it over to another file, it will have problems. It’s better for one person to put the code in when the art is all together. You can use teams to send your partner the scene you are working on when it’s done.

Remember: Don’t put in any code snippets until the art is with the main project.

If you don’t listen to this advice: One partner can use numbers for their scenes, the other should use letters.

To rename your scenes click Window, other panels, scenes. Then you double click the scene to rename it.

You will also have to rename any tweens, movie clips, buttons, or other objects.
