DTP MD 9~10: A most mysterious invitation

Design a mysterious invitation to a fantastic (in the magic meaning of the word) place. Maybe it’s an invite to a Mortal Kombat like tournament, perhaps it’s a invitation to come to Wizard School, or something else. The Invitation should itself be unusual, on a scroll made of papyrus, animal skin, or some other unusual material. The text should look strange as well, but still be readable. Maybe use a calligraphy brush? Have at least 3 art elements plus text.

Pick your favorite room from the two story house you designed and draw it in side view. Include small details (like a phone on top of a bed side table).

DTP Md 9~10 Best House 2nd Floor

Hello,

Today we will continue the last project by drawing up the plan for the 2nd floor. Make sure your drawing has the same footprint (size and shape) as the first floor, minus any decks (or the garage unless you want to include it).

You also need 2 special purpose rooms (home theater, sewing room, workshop, games room etc), fire escape route, bathroom, deck, and 3 others room. Don’t forget windows, doors, and storage. Draw the stuff in the rooms from a top down perspective.

DTP MD 9~10: Best house First Floor, Floor Plan

Hi Everyone,

today you have been chosen to design the first floor of the best house ever. You will put furniture and fixtures like bathrooms, sinks and fridges inside the floor plan.

Think about the shape of the outside of the house as well, don’t have a lot of weird bulges.

You need a kitchen, a bathroom, and four other rooms (minimum). Don’t forget storage spaces, like cupboards and closets. Remember to add doors and windows! Label areas and rooms.

Use color, and add some small details, be more like the top image than the lower one, but don’t copy them!

DTP MD 9~10: Nature takes over

When people move away or abandon a built up area, nature is quick to colonize the spot. Imagine a city building that has not been occupied for 50 or 100 years. How and which plants will take over? What animals will use the space? Have a mix of the old building and the new plants. Be creative. Draw everything yourself.

DTP MD 9~10: Story Board for a Rainy day

You are going to make a story board for a 30 second commercial for your rainy day book.

A story board shows us what we will see and hear during a few seconds of the commercial, like a comic that will help the director film the commercial.

You need to have at least 6 boxes, and each box should show us what we will see during those seconds of the commercial. When the view changes, we need a new box. If a character speaks twice, that should be two boxes. Include any sound effects or music, as well as dialogue. The last box should be the product, as well as the voice over we will hear at the end of the commercial.

DTP MD 9~10: City Elves

In the fantasy worlds Elves are creatures of the forest, blending in and living in harmony.

We have cut down a lot of forest and now live in concrete cities. If Elves were real and living in cities, what would they look like? How would they dress? What would they hunt? What would their houses look like?

How do they blend in? What do they build with? What are their tools made from?

Imagine that and then draw it.

OLD ELVES LIVE LIKE THIS:

Draw your new city elves, their clothes, houses, food etc.

DTP MD 9~10: Animal poem outlines

We are going to make a small group of poetry animals. Find a poem about an animal you like, or make up your own poem. Take out all the line breaks.

Draw an outline of the animal, use type on a path tool to replace the line with parts of the poem.

Do the same for at least 5 details inside the outline.

Make 5 interesting animals that are different from each other.
